I am running for Mayor because nothing gives me a greater sense of purpose and joy than working to make my hometown a continuously better place. I am running because Bellingham is a highly desirable place to live, and our population is going to increase considerably in coming years. How we grow and learn to live closer together, and all get along, happily, is going to be everything. I want us to become an inclusive, equitable and empowered community that values everyone and makes Bellingham a leading model of how to be. I think the most important thing we can give the future is our best, most inspired work. I want to harness the powers of Mayor to protect our unique surroundings that give Bellingham its special distinction: the foothills, the countryside, and the Salish Sea. I want our new buildings to be inspired designs that make our spirits soar and I want trees, plazas, parks and trails that bring us together. I want us to grow in ways that improve the quality of our beloved City. And towards these ends, I shall be tireless.
